Dear Parents

Welcome back to school after the short yet sweet break! We hope you all enjoyed some family time together.  We are thrilled to see all our little BOFS children again. I want you to know how much we truly care about you at Bryanston Grade 0 and Foundation Phase school. You are the reason we come to work every day!  When you come onto our school campus, you are the most important thing in the world to us.  We hope that every day when you all know how special you are and just how much potential and capability each and every one of you hold in your own unique way.

The 4th and Final term of Grade 0 and the Foundation Phase is a busy and exciting term for the children with lots of fun activities and celebrations planned. We will keep parents informed of all activities via the Newsletter and calendar on the website www.bryanstongrade0.co.za Please refer to the website for specific dates.

PLEASE save the dates for:

*WEDNESDAY 1st December – THE SCHOOL CONCERT in the evening.

*WEDNESDAY 8th December – END OF THE YEAR PARTY – time to be confirmed.

We are so pleased with the evolvement of BOFS on the new premises in such a short space of time. Thank you to all the current parents for your confidence and belief in us by committing for your children to join us again next year in our future as a school and your child’s education.   We appreciate you referring our school to your friends.

The core of our school is to educate children in a safe and nurturing environment. Children learn best when they are happy, supported to ‘have ago’, and are valued. We consider each and every child as a unique individual and all the Educators endeavour to cater to each child’s individualised learning as well as the emotional and social needs of children in their care.

We will be celebrating International Day on Friday 22nd October. The children always thoroughly enjoy this special and fun day. We kindly request that parents help their children dress up in traditional outfits representing a different country. It is lots of fun as well as educational for the children, this ties in with the Theme next week of People from around the World. It is not necessary to spend money purchasing an outfit-be creative and see what you can come up with! Pinterest has some great DIY ideas for costumes – something to keep in mind for any dress-up parties. As part of the celebrations, we would like to teach the children about different foods from around the world and also for them to have an opportunity to taste them. Moms, please assist by sending a plate of eats from a specific country! Thank you in advance.

Warm Regards,

Cheryl de Melo.

School Times

PLEASE note as per school rules all times must be strictly adhered to for the smooth operation of the school. All children must be at school by 7h50 in the morning. The academic day finishes at 13h00 for the Grade 0’s and at 13h30 on a Monday and Wednesday for Foundation Phase learners. The Educators use this time for preparation for the following day and are thus not available to supervise the “late” children. When Aftercare starts all the children enrolled in Aftercare are brought into the Aftercare room for lunch. It is awkward and unfair for the children not enrolled to be excluded. Please adhere to all school times. Thank you.

Bike Day

Please note our bike days are as follows:

Yellow – Tuesday

Red- Wednesday

Orange – Thursday

Hats, Water bottles and Sunblock

Summer is definitely here! Please send your child’s hat, water bottle and apply sunblock daily. Thank you. Please make sure everything is labelled.
