Dear BOFS Parents and Families,

Let me officially welcome you all to the start of the 2022 academic year.

I am sure that you as parents are relaxed and recharged and ready to start a new school year along with your most treasured possession – your children. I anticipate the school year with optimism and excitement. It is SO wonderful to be back and to be amongst the children, who somehow magically make one feel so positive and wholesome.

“A strong positive beginning will definitely result in a positive outcome for the year.”

I am thrilled and honoured to be welcoming all the new learners and also getting to see all our 2021 children back at BOFS for 2022! I look forward to an outstanding year of watching your children flourish and learn.

I appreciate the opportunities that this school year brings as we at Bryanston Grade 0 and Foundation Phase school work together to help your child grow their foundation for learning with personalized educational experiences and our individualised approach.

I look forward to partnering with the parents and the Educators to ensure all children are celebrated, supported, and enriched and receive the best possible innovative education in the formative years of their lifelong educational journey.

A family and school partnership will assist your child to develop all their strengths and become strong, independent learners who will confidently strive for success.

Please know that you are your child’s first teacher. The most fruitful schools are those with involved and supportive parents.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s educator. Our door is always open.

The Newsletter is published is every Friday. It will also be emailed to you and sent via SMS to your contact. Let us know if you don’t receive it as it contains important information that you need to be aware of for each week. Please also follow us on Instagram and Facebook to allow you to experience some of the happenings that your child is involved in at school. School Procedure

Children need to be collected at the end of the Academic day at 13h00 (Grade 00 & 0) & 13h30 (Grade 1-3) from their classroom. No child who is not enrolled in Aftercare or attending an extramural may remain after the 13h30 collection cut off time. It is the responsibility of the parents or drivers to collect from the learner from their classrooms. If a person other than the Biological or Step Parents (even a grandmother, another mother, friend or driver) is collecting your child, this must be submitted by email, along with a copy of this person’s form of photo ID, to the school a day before (or in case of emergency the morning of) this is going to happen. The school email address is admin@bryanstongrade0.co.za

The school WILL NOT, under any circumstances, release a child into the care of anyone who has not followed the procedure as set out above. All of the above conditions are enforced for the safety and security of our children.
Thank you for your cooperation in this regard.

Uniforms

Please assist your children to learn to dress themselves, and look after their personal belongings. Please mark/label ALL school clothing, including shoes and especially hats. This assists the teachers in returning lost items to the children. Our policy at BOFS is NO HAT, NO PLAY.

Extra Murals

This week the children will be participating in outside extra mural demonstrations. They will be sent home with information for each extramural. Please contact the extramural coach directly, should you want to enrol your child. Days and times of when each individual extramural will be finalised by next week.

Birthday Celebrations

Birthday celebrations at BOFS are done during the school day. Parents may bring cupcakes or something individually wrapped for the class to enjoy on their child birthday. Please note parents do not attend birthday celebrations, photos of the ring will be sent to you.
